'KEENE, N.H. 10/21/06 - The Keene State College women's soccer
team extended its winning streak to a season-high three game with a
2-0 Little East Conference victory over UMass-Dartmouth at Owl
Athletic Complex on Saturday.
Keene State improves to 10-7 (4-2 LEC) while UMass-Dartmouth
falls to 2-11 (1-5 LEC).
Tara Wagner (Avon, Conn.) scored both Owl goals in the first
half. She converted a cross from Katie Stevens (Londonderry,
N.H.) at the 8:17 mark and later in the half took a pass from
Kathleen Keniston (Minneapolis, Minn.) and netted her team-leading
eighth goal of the season.
KSC had a chance to increased its lead, but Corsair goalie Shawn
Howell (Uxbridge, Mass.) stopped Jessica Pepin's (Bow, N.H.)
penalty kick and a follow-up shot by Keniston. Later in the half,
Howell stopped a breakaway by Renee Halsey (Francestown, N.H.).
Liz Rosen (Swanzey, N.H.) and Jen Johnson (Goshen, N.Y.) shared
the shutout for KSC. Neither goalie needed to make a
save.
Howell finished with 19 saves for the Corsairs.
Keene State plays its final home regular season game on
Wednesday against Bridgewater State (6 p.m.). UMD is at Worcester
State on Tuesday.
