'KEENE, N.H. 09/13/06 - Keene State College romped to a
10-0 non-conference men's soccer victory over Massachusetts College
of Liberal Arts at Owl Athletic Complex on Wednesday. It was
the most goals scored by the Owls since defeating UMass-Boston 12-1
in the 2003 season.
Alex Horne (Harvard, MA.) led the Owls' assault with three
goals. He has a team-leading five this season. Pelse Mesa
(Manchester, NH.) added two goals and two assists and Brendan Flynn
(Dunbarton, NH.), who was returning to action following an injury,
added a pair of goals.
Other Owl scorers were Caleb Patterson (Barrington, N.H.) Noah
Hertzler (Hancock, N.H.), and freshman Willie Foreman (Marshfield,
Mass.), who netted his first KSC goal.
Goalie Peter Kersker (Beverly, Mass.) made one save for KSC
before giving way in the final minutes to Scott Pannone (Wolcott,
Conn.). Zach Natale (Florance, Mass.) finished with 19 saves for
the Trailblazers (3-2).
Keene State (4-1) begins LEC play on Sunday when it travels to
Western Connecticut State (12p.m.).
