'MIDDLEBURY, Vermont - Middlebury improved to 3-0 on the season as they picked up a 3-1 win over Keene State in a non-league game played on Dragone Field. The Panthers will host Wesleyan on Saturday at noon, while the Owls will travel to Southern Maine.

Middlebury took a 1-0 lead 18:48 in as Abby Kurtz-Phelan put home her own rebound after a corner kick. The lead grew to 2-0 with 1:05 left in the half as Kurtz-Phelan found Kim Walker with a nice through pass before Walker finished with a hard shot to the right side.

Keene State jumped right back in the game at the 63:02 mark as Courtney Gately's shot from 15 yards sailed over the head and off the out-stretched hands of Middlebury keeper Adelle Plunkett.

Middlebury gained some breathing room at 72:41 as Ashley Pfaff broke down the right side before making a quick up pass to Nora Tomlinson Weintraub. The rookie quickly centered a pass to Margaret Owen who scored her first career goal.
