'FRAMINGHAM, MASS. 9/9/06 - Freshman Molly Brunelle (Walpole,
N.H.) netted her first two college goals and added an assist to
lead the Keene State women's soccer team to a 6-2 non-conference
victory over Framingham State College on Saturday.
The Owls opened up a 2-1 halftime lead on goals by Kendra
Spencer (Petoskey, Mich., her first of the season, and Brunelle and
found the back of the net four more times in the second half.
Brunelle, a Fall Mountain grad, got her second of the game to
make it 3-1. After Jill Jenkinson (Boxford, Mass.) cut the lead to
3-2, KSC pulled away with goals from Jaclyn Grant (Newington,
Conn.), Michelle Boland (Worcester, Mass.), and Katrina Stauch (New
Lebanon, N.Y.). It was the first college goals for freshmen Grant
and Stauch.
Making her first appearance in goal for KSC, freshman Shaina
McMahon (Litchfield, N.Y.) finished with five saves. Ashley
Baker (Mansfield, Mass.), who scored one of the Rams' goals on a
direct kick, stopped 13 shots.
Keene State plays its first home game of the season on Tuesday
against Smith College (7 p.m.).
