PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Freshman Katie Bradford (Lebanon, N.H.) and
senior Kathleen Keniston (Minneapolis, Minn.) each tallied two
goals and an assist Saturday afternoon to lead Keene State College
past rival Plymouth State University, 5-0, in a Little East
Conference women's soccer game at Panther Field.
Bradford and Keniston took turns setting each other up for first
half goals as Keene State took a 2-0 lead, Bradford scoring 12
minutes in and Keniston in the 31st minute. The Owls had a
5-1 advantage in shots in the opening frame and took the two-goal
lead into the break.
Keene State pulled away early in the second half, as Keniston
scored her second of the game at the 50 minute mark and Bradford
added her second a little over seven minutes later to make it
4-0. She leads the Owls with eight goals. Junior Michelle
Boland (Worcester, Mass.) assisted on Keniston's second tally, and
sophomore Kendra Spencer (Petoskey, Mich.) helped out on Bradford's
second score. Senior Renee Halsey (Francestown, N.H.) rounded
out the scoring in the final seconds.
Junior Samantha Hirsch (Holliston, Mass.) stopped all three
shots she faced and earned her third shutout in the Keene State
goal. Senior Ashley Riberdy (Manchester, N.H./Memorial) had a
busy day in the Panther goal and finished with 10 saves.
