DANBURY, CONN. 11/1/08 - The Keene State College men's soccer
team concluded its season with a 3-0 loss to Western Connecticut
State University on Saturday.
The Owls (6-10-3, 2-4-1 LEC) needed a victory over the Colonials
to earn a spot in the Little East Conference tournament.
Chris Hoagland had two goals and Daniel Sanchez also scored for
Western Conn. (8-9-2, 2-3-2 LEC) who will be the fifth seed in the
LEC tournament.
Junior goalie Peter Kersker (Ipswich, Mass.)
stopped six shots for the Owls while Dan Michalowski turned aside
all 12 shots he faced.
It's the first time KSC hasn't qualified for the LEC tournament
since joining the conference in 1997.
It was the final college game for KSC seniors Alex
Horne (Harvard, Mass.), Shawn Booth
(Windsor Locks, Conn.), Scott Pannone (Wolcott,
Conn.), Stephen Attardo (Braintree, Mass.) and
Ryan Farnsworth (Merrimack, N.H.).
