Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. 9/5/10 – The Keene State
College women's soccer team fell to the Rochester Institute
of Technology 4-1 in the finals of the 2010 Rachel Miller Memorial
Tournament on Sunday afternoon. The Owls (1-1-1) took a 1-0 lead in
the first half, before giving up four goals in the second half to
the Tigers (2-0).
Juniors Megan and Melissa Dempsey (E.
Weymouth, Mass.) were named to the all-tournament team for
their efforts this weekend and were joined by sophomore midfielder
Brittany Croteau (Swanzey, N.H.) on the squad.
Keene State took a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute on a goal by
freshman midfielder Jessica Berthiaume (Worcester,
Mass.). Senior striker Katie Bradford (Lebanon,
N.H.) had the assist on the play for the Owls.
In the second-half, it was all RIT, as they netted four
unanswered goals to top the Owls 4-1 and hand KSC their first loss
of the season.
Megan Dempsey made two saves in 90 minutes of action for the
Owls.
KSC returns to action on Wednesday, with a home match against
Westfield State at 6:30 p.m.
