GENEVA, N.Y.--The 2014 season came to an end for the Keene State College women's soccer team with a 5-0 loss to defending national champion William Smith College on Saturday at Cozzens Field.

The Owls end the season with a 13-9-2 record.  William Smith improves to 16-2-1 and will play the winner of the matchup between The College of New Jersey and Allegheny College on Sunday.

The Herons took the lead in the ninth minute on a goal by Zoe Jackson Gibson, who tapped in from close range for her first goal of the season.

Krista Longo doubled the lead in the 29th minute when she headed in a free kick by Brenna Kincaid.

William Smith held a 24-6 advantage in shots, including a 15-2 edge in shots on target.  Kincaid had an assist on the Herons' third goal, sending in a cross that Lauren Randaccio headed in for a 3-0 lead that stood at halftime.

The Herons added two more goals in the second half to complete the win.  Alex Haley and Ellen Granata had the best scoring chances for KSC, but their shots were saved by Herons' goalie Hannah Fricke in the 88th and 90th minutes, respectively.

Torrie Crenson made eight saves in net for the Owls.

The Owls graduate six seniors from this year's team, which reached the NCAA tournament for the second consecutive season.
