Box Score

NEWTON, Mass.--Taylor Farland's second goal in as many games was not enough as the Keene State College women's soccer team fell to Lasell College, 3-1, in the championship game of the Lasell College Tournament on Sunday afternoon.

The Owls fall to 1-1 on, while Lasell ups its mark to 2-0.

Lasell got on the board first through Bridget Lynch, who scored after Megan Cullen crossed from the right side.  Lasell outshot KSC 8-4 in the first half, tried to add their lead, but Cullen and Elizabeth Qua shot wide.

The Lasers added another goal 63 seconds into the second half, with Cullen finding the net from Devin Day's pass.  The goal inspired the Owls back into life, as Farland immediately forced a save from Lasell goalie Sarah LeClair, and had another shot blocked in the 50th minute.

Brittany Tolla was next to force a save out of LeClair, as KSC continued to press, earning corner kicks in the 62nd and 67th minutes.  The pressure finally paid off with 10 minutes left, as Farland scored her second of the season to trim the deficit to 2-1.

Cullen restored a two goal lead just four minutes later, however, heading in a cross from Bridget Munnelly.

Torrie Crenson made two saves, playing all 90 minutes in the KSC net.  Lasell counterpart LeClair made three stops.

KSC will next be in an action on September 2, traveling to Framingham State for a 4 p.m. start.  Lasell Travels to Roger Williams on September 3.
