Box Score NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.--Nicole Starkey-Cox completed her hat-trick with the overtime winner, as the UMass Dartmouth women's soccer team came out on top 4-3, in a Little East Conference soccer match on Saturday at Cressey Field.
Keene State falls to 8-5-2, and 3-2 in the LEC, while the Corsairs up their record to 6-5-1, and 3-1-1 in the LEC
KSC took the lead 5:07 into the match when Taylor Farland bent in a free kick, but the Corsairs equalized in the 35th minute on Abby Silva's marker, and Starkey-Cox gave UMD a 2-1 lead at halftime.
Keene State scored twice in three minutes to retake the lead in the second half. Patricia Norton knocked in a rebound off a corner for her fourth of the season in the 57th minute, and Sierra Trzepacz gave the Owls a 3-2 lead when she scored from 20 yards out.
That looked set to be the game winner until the 87th minute, when Starkey-Cox forced overtime with an unassisted tally, and won the game in overtime when Courtney Hewitt's shot rattled off the crossbar and fell to Starkey-Cox, who buried it into the top left corner of the net
Danielle Warhall made a pair of stops for Keene State. The Owls travel to Bridgewater State on Wednesday, October 21, for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
