Game Highlights

  • St. Joseph's held the shot advantage in the first half, with seven, while Keene State fired off nine during the second half.
  • For the Owls, junior Promise Kpee, had several good chances, including a pair of bicycle kick shots, but could not find the back of the net. The visitors' best chance came in the 109th minute when St. Joseph's sophomore goalie Mullen strayed from the goalmouth and junior Aidan Dean let fly an odd-angle shot that trickled wide-left.
  • For the Monks, the best scoring chance came late in the first half as a result of an impressive effort by freshman Quaadir Palmer, who had just entered the game as a substitution. In the 37th minute, with the Owls attempting to clear out of their box, Palmer claimed possession, stayed strong on the ball midst several Keene defenders, and passed off to classmate JoJo Strobino, who got off a close range shot that was stopped by junior keeper Smith. Junior Trevor Lopes corralled the rebound, but Smith, who left his post to challenge the play, denied his shot. Finally, Palmer had a good look at a keeper-free goal, but a Keene defender cleared out his shot.
  • The Monks also earned a pair of corners in the final minute of regulation, but neither attempt resulted in a shot, and led to two scoreless overtime periods.
