Tale of the Tape

  • Dube struck out nine in seven innings of work, allowing one earned run and did not walk a batter.
  • Devin Springfield, Billy Hartmann, and Joey Libby each had two hits, while Springfield and Hartmann knocked in a pair of runs apiece.
  • KSC had five extra base hits, more than they had in the first four games of the year (three) combined.
  • Keene State took advantage of six Montclair State errors.  Interestingly, the game did not have a single walk on either side.

How It Happened

  • The Red Hawks had taken a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on Joe Foote's RBI single.  Keene State hit back with four runs in the bottom half of the inning.  Libby led off with a single and scored on Hartmann's triple.  Bourgea brought in Hartmann with a groundout to second base.   Springfield tripled in Kolby Reggione, and Connor Longley brought him around with a double.
  • KSC added two more in the second when Hartmann singled Libby home and scored on a Montclair State error.  RBI hits from Springfield and Reggione made it 8-1 in the bottom of the fourth.
  • Dube was outstanding for the second straight start, retiring 12 in a row from the second to the sixth innings.  He allowed one extra base hit and got Justin Empifiano to line into a double play to end the sixth inning.
  • Alan Schiff and Nick Nowak each pitched one inning of relief.
