Box Score

AUBURNDALE, Fla.--Billy Hartmann and Connor Longley each had three hits to lead the Keene State College baseball team to an 8-2 win over Farmingdale State on Friday at Lake Myrtle Sports Complex.

Records

  • Keene State: 7-4
  • Farmingdale State: 1-7

Up Next

  • The Owls close out their trip to Florida with a 9 am game on Saturday against Suffolk.
  • The Rams remain in the Sunshine State for a doubleheader against Stockton (N.J.). on Saturday.

Tale of the Tape

  • Longley and Hartmann led a 13 hit attack in support of Cody Dube, who had his third strong outing of the season.  The senior tossed seven innings of four hit ball, striking out eight and not allowing a run, improving to 2-1 this season.
  • Dube now has 27 strikeouts in 20.2 innings of work this year, and an ERA that has dropped to 1.31.
  • Every Owl starter reached base except for one, as KSC touched up five Farmingdale State pitchers.

How It Happened

  • The Owls got all the runs they would need in the top of the second inning, as Vinny Parilla drew a one out walk and scored on Longley's RBI double.
  • Kolby Reggione and Mac Struthers walked to load the bases, and Joey Libby brought home another run with an RBI single.  Hartmann made it 4-0 with a 2-RBI hit.
  • Keene State added single runs in the third on a Farmingdale State error and in the fourth on a single from Trevor Chapin that plated Hartmann.
  • Dube worked out of trouble in the fourth, getting Christopher Reilly to groundout to third base with a runner on third.
  • Keene State tacked on additional runs in the sixth on another RBI single from Chapin and again in the eighth with an RBI single off the bat of Devin Springfield.
