How It Happened

Middlebury found the back of the net early, as Virginia Charman netted the first goal in the second minute after collecting a long pass from the defense, to give the Panthers an early edge. In the 10th minute, the Owls aimed to even the score, but senior Taylor Farland's chance from outside the box was picked up by the Panthers' goaltender Eva Sham. Middlebury continued to push their lead in the 18th minute, as Alissa Huntington finished off a tipped ball from Owls' goalkeeper Abbie Terrinca, sent into the box by Amanda Dafonte. After a bobble in the box, the Panthers added one more on the half, as Clare Robinson finally settled the ball off a pass from Sabrina Glaser and tucked the ball into the back of the net. In the 34th minute, Julia Pearson ripped off a shot after a feed from Stephanie Spitz for the Owls, but Shaw was in place to make the save.

Glaser added another for the Panthers in the 51st minute, after collecting a rebound from Terrinca, from a ball that was sent into the box by Alex Parker. In the 66th minute, Keene State looked to get on the board with back to back shots, but freshman Rachel Braun's shot was blocked and senior Katie Silegy's opportunity was saved by Panthers' goaltender Ursula Alwang. Middlebury tacked on one final goal in the 87th minute, as Ellie Greenberg connected with Charman, as the shot tricked into the Owls' net.
