How It Happened

Worcester State got the scoring started in the 5th minute. Off of a free kick from James Connor, Bryan Brasil chested down the kick and directed the ball over to Ethan Melia who buried it in the lower right corner of the cage. Seconds later Brasil had a point-blank shot but was stopped by Anthony Pasciuto. The momentum then switched in the Owls favor, in the 12th minute Donovan Harris found a streaking Samuel Binogono, but his attempt at goal was saved by the Lancers goalie, Henri Guilmette. The Owls got on the board in the 30th minute, as Noah Charron served the ball up to Emmanuel Smith, who headed it down to Connor Downey. Downey proceeded to slip the ball back to Smith who ripped a shot into the lower right corner, for the equalizer. The Owls would take the lead minutes later as Benny Tamzarian brought the ball upfield, bouncing off the Worcester State defenders. The freshman midfielder sent a through ball to Harris, who crossed the ball into the box, where he passed the ball back to Tamzarian and he put the ball just inside the left post.

Keene State added on to their lead in the opening minutes of the second half. Smith picked up an assist as his crosser connected with Wesley McIntosh, who headed it into the top left corner of the net. The Lancers nearly cut into the 3-1 Keene State lead in the 60th minute, as Alessandro Romeo rifled a shot to the far post, but Pasciuto made the diving stop to keep the two-goal advantage. KSC would pick up their fourth goal of the contest as Clinton Mungeta scored off the Henry Cumming rebound, at 78:11.
