Box Score KEENE, N.H. - The Keene State women's soccer program struck first, but fell to Western New England in double overtime, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon for the Owls' first loss of the 2018 season.

How It Happened
The Owls took an early lead in the game, when sophomore forward Jordyn Abasciano drove a low line drive into the back of the cage. The forward corralled the through ball from classmate Sarah Carron, and buried the shot to give a 1-0 edge for Keene State in the 24th minute. Western England nearly tied the match with just under four minutes before halftime as Allison Bruehwiler had a breakway, which was foiled by a diving stop by second-year goalkeeper Shelby Offord.
The Golden Bears responded in the 60th minute, as Morgan Smith fired a rebound over the out stretched arm of Keene keeper Abbie Terrica to even the score. Both teams exchanged chances for the remaining of regulation and the first overtime period. WNEU was able to end the game early in the second OT period as Smith was able to complete the cross thorugh the box and found the head of freshman Authumn Hathaway who sent it into the bottom corner of the net.
Outside the Box
- In the net for the Owls, freshman Offord made three saves over the first 45 minutes of play, while the relief keeper Terrinca registered six stops in 57:12.
- The Golden Bears finished with a 21-14 advantage in the shot department, while the Owls edged out one more corner than the opposition (4-3).
- With Western New England pulling out in overtime, the Golden Bears pick up their first win in the all-time series as the Owls lead 14-1-0.
