FRAMINGHAM, Mass. - Ally McCall added to her standout week with two goals and another defensive save as the Keene State College field hockey team locked up second place in the Little East Conference after running away to a 4-0 win over Framingham State University Saturday afternoon at Maple Street Field.

How It Happened

In scoring the two goals, McCall, last year's Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Year and tournament Most Outstanding Player, established new career bests with five goals and 24 points so far this season.  KSC also received strikes from Kayla Klein and Nina Bruno in the win, with the duo remaining tied for the team lead with 16 goals.

Keene State controlled the play for the vast majority of the game, but Framingham goalie Grace Pushor made nine saves, including three in the opening 7:03, to keep her team in it for awhile.  KSC also received four corners in the opening quarter to Framingham's two, but neither team scored.  An end-to-end sequence about five minutes into the second stanza helped Keene State break the ice.  On one end, McCall kept out a bid from the Rams' Jordyn O'Boyle, and 37 seconds later, Kayla Klein scored for a 1-0 lead at the 20:49 mark.  Looking for more, Bruno had one try saved by Pushor and the other blocked in the ensuing minutes as it remained a one-goal game at the break, with the Owls holding a 9-2 edge in shots.

KSC came out of halftime with more of the same, forcing Pushor to make three more stops, two on Bruno, in the opening 11 minutes, but it was not too much longer before the visitors found their scoring touch.  Following a second penalty corner in a minute, McCall found the back of the cage for a 2-0 edge at the 42:42 mark.  Up by two goals after 45 minutes, Keene State put the game completely out of reach with another McCall goal with just over five minutes to go and Bruno's first tally in the 57th minute, making it 4-0.

Rachel Loseby (10-6) got the win in the cage, posting a six-save shutout, her fifth blanking of the season.  Five of her stops came in the fourth quarter.  Pushor (4-11) stopped nine of 13 shots.

Penalty Strokes

• Keene State's win ensures the No. 2 seed when the Little East Conference tournament begins on November 5.  The Owls wrap up their conference slate at 10-2.  The winner of next Saturday's Worcester State University/Western Connecticut State University matchup, both of whom are 10-1, will take the LEC regular season title.  KSC emerges from any two-way tiebreaker scenario with the loser of that game and any three-way tiebreaker scenario with the loser of that game and the University of Southern Maine because the Owls defeated both WestConn (8-1) and Worcester State (3-2, OT) in the regular season.
• KSC has shutout Framingham in four consecutive head-to-head meetings.
• The multi-goal effort is the second of McCall's career.
