KEENE, N.H. - Conference races continue to heat up with three weeks remaining in the fall regular seasons for the Keene State College athletic teams, which you have five chances to catch at home over the next four days.
Field Hockey
Field hockey begins a busy week with back-to-back road games. The first one happens on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 4 p.m. at Fitchburg State University in a Little East Conference match. The next day, the Owls will travel to take on Trinity College on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. Keene State then returns home to the Owls Athletic Complex to host Framingham State University in another LEC match on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 1:30 p.m. KSC remains in first place in the LEC with a 5-0 record in league play.

Women's Volleyball
The women's volleyball team looks to continue its recent success in a pair of LEC matches this at home this week. First, the Owls host Castleton University on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. at Spaulding Gymnasium. Then KSC will welcome UMass-Boston to the Monadnock Region for a match on Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. KSC has won its last two matches to bring its record up to 5-12 overall and 2-2 in the LEC.

Women's Soccer
Much like women's volleyball, the women's soccer team will host both Castleton and UMass-Boston this week. With the games happening at Dr. Ron Butcher Field, the contest against Castleton will be on Oct. 12 at 6:30 p.m., while the match against UMass-Boston will be on Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. The Owls have won three of their last five matches to bring their record to 7-5-2 overall and 2-2 in LEC play.

Men's Soccer
While the men's soccer team will also play Castleton and UMass-Boston this week, both games will be on the road. First will be Castleton on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m., followed by UMass-Boston on Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. The Owls are hoping to build off their 2-1 win over UMass-Dartmouth on Oct. 8 and improve their record, which sits at 4-7-1 overall and 2-2 in LEC play.

Golf
Both the men's and women's golf teams will compete at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship this weekend at The Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Mass. According to the group, NEIGA is believed to be the largest gathering of collegiate players from different NCAA divisions competing at the same location on a 36-hole layout. The two-day competition begins on Oct. 15 and runs through Sunday, Oct. 16. Freshman
Caden Capaldo of men's golf was named LEC Rookie of the Week for the second time this season after finishing sixth overall at the LEC Championship last week. He had the highest finish of any freshman at the event.

Cross Country
Keene State will compete at the Suffolk Invitational at Franklin Park in Roxbury, Mass., on Oct. 15. Both the men's and women's teams are coming off hosting the Keene State Invitational on Oct. 1. The women's team finished second out of 18 teams while the men's team finished eighth out of 20 teams. Junior
Maggie St. John was named LEC Rookie Runner of the Week for her efforts after finishing 10th overall in the women's race, second among LEC runners, with a time of 19:03.64. Senior
Jacob Pearl was named LEC Runner of the Week after finishing second overall and first among LEC runners in the men's race with a time of 25:20.81 on the 8k course.
