WARWICK, R.I. – Madi Mousley and
Mackenzie Hagearty each shot a 97 to lead the Keene State College women's golf team as the Owls competed at Rhode Island College on Wednesday at the Valley Country Club.
On a day marred by tough course conditions, the two teams combined for 14 pars, with Mousley finishing with three (No. 1, No. 10, No. 13).
Sadie Murray added a pair while shooting a 106, while Hagearty parred No. 1.
Rhode Island College's Alana DeLuties shot a 44 on the front nine – the best of any nine-hole score from any individual at the event – and used that to win individual medalist honors with a 96.
The Owls finished with a 407 as a team while the Anchorwomen finished with a 443.
"It was really tough conditions today," said KSC head coach
Jeff Timmer. "Windy, leaves, and dry and fast greens made for a difficult course. Proud of all the players for surviving and doing the best they could under those conditions."
The Owls will travel to the Westfield State Fall Invitational on Sunday with the NEIGA Championship and Little East Conference championship looming in the horizon.
