KEENE, N.H. – Keene State College Esports is set to begin its Spring 2026 season of collegiate play this week as Varsity Rocket League, Rocket League Academy, Overwatch, VALORANT and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate compete in their season openers.
 
Keene State Esports is a Varsity member of PlayVS College League (PCL). Formerly known as Playfly College Esports, PCL is one of the largest governing bodies of collegiate esports competition in the world. PCL sanctions competitions from colleges and universities across the United States and Canada, awarding scholarship money and hardware to successful teams each season (Fall and Spring).
 
KSC Esports teams compete in a regular season schedule and a playoff bracket, if they qualify. Divisions of play are divided into two categories: Premier and Ranked, with Premier being the highest level of play PCL offers. For Spring 2026, all five KSC Esports squads are competing within the Ranked designation.

KSC Overwatch begins their Spring campaign immediately following a large Overwatch update to be released on February 10th, a day before their season opener. Among several large gameplay changes, five new heroes will be released all at once, all of which will be disabled in PCL play until KSC's third match on Wednesday 2/25.

Regarding the upcoming hero releases, Coach Godzik stated:
            "In Keene State fashion, we are anticipating using these new heroes to our advantage by quickly learning and combining the strengths of each hero. We tend to play a wide variety of heroes at a high skill level. In the Fall 2025 season alone, we played approximately 73% or 32 of the 44 available heroes in an official game (Vendetta was unavailable during our season). One of our team's greatest strengths is our flexibility and ability to adapt quickly. We anticipate that these changes will further benefit us as we look for another Championship win."
