PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Two Keene State College student-athletes were honored by the Little East Conference for their achievements accomplished for the week of 9/1-9/6 in the first week of action in the 2026-2027 school year.
Field Hockey
Freshman forward
Henley Gilstrap (Greenfield, Mass.) was named the LEC Rookie of the Week after her first two collegiate games of action on the season for the Owls. Over the week Gilstrap scored four goals over the Owls' 2-0 start to the 2026 season, including a goal on her first shot attempt in the Owls' 9-2 win over Rivier University. In KSC's home opener, Gilstrap single-handedly outscored New England College as she scored all of KSC's three goals in the 3-2 victory on just her five shot attempts.
Gilstrap and the Owls return to action on the road on Tuesday, September 8, at 7:00 PM as the Owls travel to take on Fitchburg State University.
Men's Golf
Sophomore
Taylor Miller (Stoddard, N.H.) was named the LEC Player of the Week from his performance in the Owls' first competition of the season this past Saturday at the New England College Invitational at the Country Club of New Hampshire. Miller shot a two-over 74 and was also tied for the second-best individual score on the day, shooting a one-over on each the front and back nine, while recording two birdies on each the front and back nine, as well. As a team, the Owls finished in third with a 315 on Saturday of the six teams participating.
Miller and the Owls return to action on Wednesday, September 9, at 10:00 AM at the Tony Mariano Invitational hosted by Norwich University.
