'KEENE, N.H. 11/2/02 - Both Keene State College men's and
women's swim teams lost to Brandeis University in season-opening
meets, Saturday at Spaulding Gym Pool.
The Owl women came up short 131-110. Lisa Wandeloski
(Westfield, MA.) had a big day for KSC winning both the 50-yard
(25.28) and 100-yard (55.57) freestyle races and participating in
the winning 400 freestyle relay that was just two seconds shy of
the school record. Relays members included Karly Smith
(Concord, N.H.), Cathy Sue Klein (Middlesex, N.J.) , Megan
Humphreys (New Hartford, N.Y.) and Wandeloski.
Alexis Collins (River Edge, N.J.) took first place in the
200-yard backstroke (2:22.60) while freshman diver Andria Titko
(East Longmeadow, MA.) had a pair of second place finishes in the
one meter (181 points) and three-meter (187 points) diving events.
Despite a 130-102 loss, the KSC men shined in diving
events. Newcomers Chris McCormack (Springfield, MA.)
(three-meter/216 points) and Zach Hasting (Weston, MA.)
(one-meter/217 points) win their respective events.
Freshman Scott Seligman (Clifton Park, N.Y.) also took first in
the 100-yard breast stroke in a time of 1:05.52).
KSC women will be at a tri-meet at Eastern CT, with Colby-Sawyer
next Saturday.
