'WELLESELY, MASS.  11/8/03 - The Keene State College women's swim team placed third at the Betty Spears Relay Meet held Saturday at Wellesley College.

Keene State had 78 points to finish behind host Wellesley College (258 points) and Smith College (120 points).

The top performance for the Owls was a first place finish (3:50.53) by the team of Lisa Wandeloski (Westfield, Mass.), Cathy Sue Klein (Middlesex, N.J.), Kaitlin Pryor (Jaffrey, N.H.) and Megan Humprheys (New Hartford, N.Y.) in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Wandeloski, Klein and Pryor combined to place second in the 300-yard butterfly relay (3:11.80).  Wandeloski, Pryor and Humphreys also had a second place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay (8:23.66). 

In other events, Karly Smith (Concord, N.H.), Meredith O'Rourke (Bedford, N.H.), Pryor and Humphreys were runner-up in the 400-yard medley relay (4:30.62) and Devon Trabilsy (Hillsborough, N.J.), Klein and Pryor were second in the 1,500-yard freestyle relay (17:07.25).

KSC men's and women's team compete at Norwich on Wednesday (3 p.m.).
