'KEENE, N.H. 2/5/03 – The Keene State College
women's swim team captured 11 of 16 events en route to a 175-122
victory over rival Plymouth State College in a dual meet held
Wednesday night at Spaulding Gym Pool.
The win was KSC's sixth in a row over PSC. The Owls
improve to 7-2 on the season, while the Panthers drop to 5-4.
Four Owl swimmers posted a pair of victories in the meet.
Sophomore Cathy Sue Klein (Middlesex, N.J.) in the 500 freestyle
(5:38.50) and the 1,000 freestyle (11:36.47), sophomore Alexis
Collins (River Edge, N.J.) in the 100 backstroke (1:07.30) and the
200 backstroke (2:19.81), senior Lanell Smith (Concord, N.H.) in
the 100 breast stroke (1:14.10) and 200 breast stroke (2:42.96),
and junior Lisa Wandeloski (Westfield, MA.) in the 50 freestyle
(26.11) and 100 freestyle (57.34).
In addition, to a victory by sophomore Karly Smith (Concord,
N.H.) in the 200 individual medley (2:24. 89), KSC also prevailed
in the 200-medley relay (2:02.95) and the 400 freestyle relay
(4:00.03).
Plymouth State was led by junior Scarlette Scarborough (Salem,
N.H.), who placed first in the 100 butterfly (1:04.48) and the 200
butterfly (2:19.80). Sophomore Pamela Shea also won the 200
freestyle (2:17.70). The Panthers swept the diving events with
junior Jen Crescenzi (Killingworth, CT) winning the one-meter
(221.60) and teammate junior Becky Huntington (Hampstead, N.H.)
taking the three-meter. (240.85).
KSC wraps up its dual meet season at Gordon College on Saturday
while Plymouth State travels to Simmons College. Both are 1 p.m.
meets.
