'KEENE, N.H. 1/24/04 - The Keene State College women's swim team
improved its record to 5-1 with a 92-39 victory over Eastern
Connecticut State University at Spaulding Gym Pool on Saturday.
Keene State won 12 out of 17 events at the meet.
Senior Lisa Wandeloski (Westfield, Mass.) led the Owls with wins
in the the 50-yard freestyle (26.82), 100-yard freestyle (57.87),
and 50-yard butterfly (29.47).
Freshman Katlin Pryor (Jaffrey, N.H.) had another big day with a
victories in the 400-yard individual medley (4:52.37) and 100-yard
butterfly (1:03.94).
In other events, Megan Humphreys (New Hartford, N.Y.) won the
200-yard freestyle (2:00.68), Megan Flynn (Colebrook, Conn.)
prevailed in the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.77), Meredith O'Rourke
won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.67), Karly Smith (Concord,
N.H.) placed first in the 100-yard individual medley (1:05.95) and
senior captain Katie Avener (Belfast, Maine) qualified for the New
England Championships with her third place finish (189.10 points)
in the one-meter diving event.
KSC also won the 200-yard medley relay and 200-yard freestyle
relay.
ECSU's Jessica Boardman topped the field in the 500-yard
freestyle with a time of 5:48.02.
Keene State men's and women's team will swim at Bridgewater
State on Wednesday (6 p.m.).
