'KEENE, N.H. 1/21/06 - The Keene State College women's
swim team captured 10 out of 14 events on the way to posting a
144-107 victory over Eastern Connecticut State University in a
Little East Conference dual meet held at Spaulding Gym Pool on
Saturday.
Keene State improves to 5-2 while ECSU falls to 4-5.
Junior Katlin Pryor (Jaffrey, N.H.) and sophomore Kelly
Yankowski (Turners Falls, Mass.) combined to win five races to lead
the Owls.
Pryor had wins in the 1,650-freestyle (18:24.56), 100 backstroke
(2:10.05), and 200 backstroke (2:21.42) while Yankowski posted
victories in the 50 freestyle (26.28) and 100 freestyle (58.03).
Junior Devon Trabilsy (Hillsborough, N.J.) had a pair of wins in
the 100 breast stroke (1:15.44) and 200 breast stoke (2:43.01).
Other Owl victories were by freshman Katie Allenson (Clifton Park,
N.Y.) in the 200 freestyle (2:10.05) and junior Caitlin Coulombe
(Lincoln, R.I.) in the 200 butterfly (2:28.45). Trabilsy,
Yankowski, Coulombe, and Kelly Widman (Middlebury, Conn.) also
combined to win the 200 medley relay (2:03.11).
Sophomore Sarah Barber (Meriden, Conn.) led the Warriors with
wins in the 100 butterfly (1:06.03) and the 200 individual medley
(2:23.25).
Keene State men's and women's swim teams will be at Bridgewater
State on Wednesday (6 p.m.). Eastern Conn. hosts a tri-meet with
Elms College and Wheelock College on Feb. 1.
