KEENE, N.H. 1/19/08 - The Keene State women's swim team remained
undefeated (8-0) in dual meet competition with wins over Husson
College (86-7)and Eastern Conn. State University (78-17)at
Spaulding Gym Pool on Saturday.
The Owls swept all 13 events at the meet.
Sophomore Chelsea Peruccio (Glastonbury, Conn.), who recently
rejoined the team after attending school in Florida, became the
first Owl women's Division III diver to qualify for the ECAC Open
meet in both the one meter (222.20 points) and three-meter (230.30
points).
Three KSC swimmers were double winners in the meet. Freshman
Rachel Mondello (Stoneham, Mass.) won the 50 free (25.36) and the
100 free (57.15) races, sophomore Jackie Foster (Bedford, N.H.) won
the 200 free (2:01.04) and the 500 free (5:20.86), and sophomore
Alea Paddock (Newbury, N.H.) won the 100 breast (1:11.40) and the
400 IM (4:53.25).
Single wins were posted by senior Liesel Dolce (Jamestown, R.I.) in
the 100 back (1:08.78), Kristine Trutor (Holden, Mass.) in the 100
fly (1:03.67), and Kelly Yankowski (Turners Falls, Mass.) in the
100 IM (1:04.60).
Rose Harrington (South Orleans, Mass.), Kelly Widman (Middlebury,
Conn.), and Jessica Laidley (Brockton, Mass.) joined Foster to win
the 200 free relay (1:50.41). Yankowski, Trutor, Paddock, and
Mondello teamed up to win the 200 medley relay (1:57.31).
The Owls swim at Bridgewater State on Wednesday.
