BRIDGEWATER, MASS. 1/23/08 - Keene State College men's and
women's swim team kept their perfect dual meet records intact with
road victories over Bridgewater State College on Wednesday
night.
The Owl women, now 9-0, won 12 of 16 events on the way to
posting a 155.5-106.5 victory over BSC. The KSC men (6-0),
took 11 of 16 races in their 148-85 win over the Bears.
The Keene State women were led by the sophomore duo of Alea
Paddock (Newbury, N.H.) and Kristine Trutor (Holden, Mass.) Paddock
won the 50 breast (33.51), 100 breast (1:11.94), and the 100 IM
(1:04.43) and Trutor swam to wins in the 100 fly (1:02.06), the 100
back (1:02.35), and the 50 fly (27.22).
Sophomore Jackie Foster (Bedford, N.H.) was a double winner in
the 200 free (2:03.80) and the 100 free (57.25). Single wins
were turned in by senior Kelly Yankowski (Turners Falls, Mass.) in
the 50 back (30.22) and freshman Rachel Mondello (Stoneham, Mass.)
in the 50 free (25.38).
The Owls also prevailed in a pair of relays. Katie
Allenson (Clifton Park, N.Y.) teamed with Yankowski, Paddock, and
Mondello to win the 200 medley relay (1:58.22) and Foster, Trutor,
Mondello, and Yankowski joined forces to win the 200 free relay
(1:45.23).
Freshman Dan Theleen (Southbury, Conn.) and Karl Balinski
(Waterford, Conn.) led the Keene men. Theleen won the 400 IM
(4:35.71) and the 500 free (5:01.72) and Balinski sprinted to wins
in the 50 free (22.71) and the 100 free (50.17). In other races,
Pat Luciano (Warren, N.J.) won the 200 free (1:53.75), sophomore
Cody Larrimore (Trappe, Md.) won the 50 back (26.04), freshman Seth
Gourson (Farmington, Conn.) won the 50 breast (29.68), freshman
John Farrell (Gardner, Mass.) won the 100 fly (58.58), and freshman
Connor Pennoyer (Norwalk, Conn.) won the 50 fly (25.41).
Domingo Rose (Nashua, N.H.), Luciano, Larrimore, and Gourson
combined to win the 200 medley relay (1:45.16).
The Owls' next meet will be Saturday at Bentley College.
