PITTSBURGH, PA. 2/29/08 - Keene State freshman Rachel Mondello
(Stoneham, Mass.) swam to All-ECAC honors in three races and helps
set an Owl relay record at the ECAC Open Swimming and Diving
Championships at Trees Pool on the campus of the University of
Pittsburgh on Friday.
Mondello earned All-ECAC honors with her fifth place finish in
the 50 freestyle race with a time of 24.14. She also teamed with
Kelly Yankowski (Turners Falls, Mass.), Kristine Trutor (Holden,
Mass.), and Jackie Foster (Bedford, Mass.) to take seventh in the
200 free relay (1:40.28). The 400 medley relay team of Alea Paddock
(Newbury, N.H.), Yankowski, Trutor, and Mondello also set a KSC
record by two minutes (4:05.39) with their 10th place finish.
The KSC women are 10th after the first day of competition with
56 points in the 22-team field.
The Keene State men's 400 medley relay team of Mike Germane
(Barrington, R.I.), Cody Larrimore (Trappe, Md.), Domingo Rose
(Nashua, N.H.), and Karl Balinski (Waterford, Conn.) set an Owl
record (3:34.18) with their 12th place performance.
The 200 free relay team of Connor Pennoyer (Norwalk, Conn.),
Larrimore Rose, and Balinski also swam to a 12th place finish with
a time of 1:26.97.
The Owls are in 14 place with 20 points in the 24-team men's
field.
