PITTSBURGH, PAS. 3/2/08 - Keene State scored in four events in
the final day of competition at the ECAC Open Swimming and Diving
Championships at the University of Pittsburgh on Sunday.
In individual races, senior Kelly Yankowski (Turners Falls,
Mass.) Completed her Owl career by finishing 11th in the 100 free
events with a time of 54.25. Freshman Rachel Mondello (Stoneham,
Mass.) was 16th (55.67) in the race. Sophomore Alea Paddock
(Newbury, N.H.) placed 12th in the 200 breast with a time of
2:30.16.
In the 400 free relay the team of sophomores Kristine Trutor
(Holden, Mass.) and Jackie Foster (Bedford, N.H.), Mondello, and
Yankowski finished 11th with a time of 3:42.07.
Keene State finished 12th out of 28 teams at the championships
with 121 points. Central Connecticut won the title with 425 points.
The Owls men placed in just one event on Sunday, the 400 free
relay. The team of sophomores Domingo Rose (Nashua, N.H.) and Cody
Larrimore (Trappe, Md.) and freshmen Mike Germane (Barrington,
R.I.) and Karl Balinski (Waterford, Conn.) finished 13th with a
time of 3:14.28.
Keene State finished 21st out of 26 teams with 28 points.
Harvard captured the men's championship with 524 points.
