WELLESLEY, Mass. – In the final day of four consecutive days of competition at the Little East Conference championships for the Keene State College swimming and diving teams,
Rory Lee led the Owls with her third first-place finish on the day as the women's season ended in second place and the men's team ended in fifth place at the conclusion of the championships.
Sunday's Highlights
The Owls placed three in the top six in the mile on Sunday with
Rory Lee winning the event for the second consecutive year with a time of 18:31.67, the 10th-best time in the event in program history and making it a perfect 3-for-3 on the weekend in her individual events, besting Ollie Kramer of Plymouth State University in each of her three first-place wins.
Emily Stokel and Madison Wilson took home fourth and sixth place finishes in the mile, finishing in 19:07.44 and 19:51.02. After a fifth-place finish in the 50 free Saturday,
Tallulah Going placed third in the 100 free, swimming the event in 55.67, and sixth in the 100 IM in 1:07.12. The Owls placed two in the championship final of the 100 back as
Maddy Fitzgerald placed sixth in 2:38.83 and
Eliza Barrett placed seventh in 2:42.94.
Rebecca Radonovich and
Olivia Boulris both placed top three in the 200 fly as the pair both placed top five in both the 200 IM and 400 IM previously on the weekend with Radonovich placing second in 2:22.30 and Boulris placing third in 2:24.62. In the final event of the season for the Owls, KSC placed fourth in the 400 free relay, with a time of 3:47.43, just .3 outside a medal position. At the conclusion of the weekend the Owls placed second on the women's side to Eastern Connecticut State University as the Owls had 529 points to the Warriors' 839.5 points.
On the men's side in the final day of competition,
Alec Agosto led the Owls with a third-place finish in the mile with a final time of 18:10.34.
Leo Lauridsen added to his two second place finishes earlier in the weekend with a fourth-place finish in the 200 fly in 2:04.92. Zack Menz finished up his sophomore season for the Owls with a fifth-place finish in the 50 back in 26.09, while
Caiden Cox rounded out his first season at KSC with a 57.69 in the 100 IM, placing seventh. On the men's side, KSC finished fifth with 457 points, while Bridgewater State University took home first with 870 points.
