CHESNUT HILL, MASS. 2/7/09 - Looking to qualify for the 1,650-yard
race at the New England Division II-III championships later this
month, junior Jackie Foster (Bedford, N.H.) more
than surpassed her goal at the New England Invitational meet at
Boston College on Saturday.
With her first place finish in the event, Foster not only qualified
for the NEISDA championship, but also posted an NCAA championship
provisional qualifying and Owl record (17:35.93) in the process. In
addition, she also set a KSC record in the 1,000 free with a time
of 10:35.93.
Senior Rose Harrington, (South Orleans, Mass.),
and sophomores Catherine Carey (Melrose, Mass.)
and Jessica Laidley (Brockton, Mass.) also
qualified for the NEISDA championship in the 1,650 event.
Junior Alea Paddock (Newbury, N.H.) also had a
record-setting day for the Owls, establishing new school marks in
the 200 I.M. (2:14.65) and 100 breast (1:07.97).
The Owl women will continue to taper as they prepare for the NEISDA
championships that take place Feb. 20-22 at UMass-Dartmouth.
