MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. 3/20/09- Keene State's Kristine Trutor came up short in her bid to reach the finals in the 100 backstroke event at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships taking place at the University Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota on Friday. 

Although the  junior from Holden, Mass. set a school record in the race (57.58), she placed 17th, missing the cutoff for the finals by one competitor.

Trutor, who finished 14th in the 100 butterfly on Thursday will swim in the 50 backstroke on Saturday at the national meet.
