KEENE, N.H. 12/10/11 – Keene State College freshman Amelia Good (Meriden, N.H.) won two events, and placed second in another, as the women's swimming and diving team sank the Roger Williams University Hawks 154-119 in a dual meet at the Pool in Spaulding Gymnasium.
Good won the 100 and the 200 breaststroke in times of 1:12.03 and 2:37.85 and finished second in the 200 IM, completing the race in 2:22.68.
Freshmen Diana Primer (West Haven, Conn.) and Julie Trodden (Reading, Mass.) and senior Jillian Whitaker (Gilford, N.H.)also garnered multiple victories against the Hawks. Primer won the 200 IM in a time of 2:12.66 and coming back to win the 200 butterfly in 2:13.80, while Trodden took the 200 free in a time of 2:02.51 and the 500 free with a finish in 5:27.61. Whitaker finished first in the 100 free (55.69) and the 100 IM (1:03.34).
Also taking home victories, Taylor DaSilva (Stony Brook, N.Y.) in the 50 free (25.50), Maureen O'Leary (Nashua, N.H.) in the 100 fly (1:00.43) and Stephanie Murray (Haverhill, Mass.) in the 100 back.
In her first meet back, sophomore diver Amber Beam (Keene, N.H.) won the 1 meter diving event with 161.20 points.
The Owls will compete again in 2012, as they will head to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and compete in two meets over the break. On January 3rd they will compete in the Mike Pepe 1 Meter Diving Meet and on January 6th they will swim in the Bob Mowerson Sprint Meet.
