WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, VT.  2/19/11 – Keene State swimmers had another fine day in the pool at the men's and women's New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in White River Junction, Vt. on Saturday. 

The Keene State men's team maintained its lead with 701 points while the Owl women have 808.5 after two days, good for second place. 

The Keene State men won six events on Saturday.  In sprint events, Senior Cody Larrimore (Trappe, Md.) won the 100 back (52.23), senior Dan Morse (Hope, R.I.) won the 200 free (1:44.33) and freshman Jared Hyde (Tolland, Conn.) won the 100 breast (1:00.48). 

In other races, sophomore Marc Marois (Derry, N.H.) won the 400 IM (4:15.87) and senior Patrick Luciano (Warren, N.J) won the 1,000 free (10:02.81). 

The Owls also won a pair of relays.  The team of seniors Connor Pennoyer (Norwalk, Conn.) and D.J. Collis (Laconia, N.H.) joined Hyde and Larrimore to win the 200 medley relay (1:35.32).   Freshman Drew Ledwith and senior Lucas Pozzetta (Merrimack, N.H.) joined Hyde and Morse to win the 800 free relay in a school record time of 6:54.42.

Sophomore Kaila Umbarger (Chelmsford, Mass.) had the top performance by the Keene State women, breaking her own meet and school record in the 50 fly with a time of 24.97.

Junior Jillian Whitaker (Gilford, N.H.) was second in the 100 breast (1:05.52) and senior Jessica Laidley (Brockton, Mass.) placed second in the 1,000 free (10:48.50).

In relays, the team of junior Maureen O'Leary (Nashua, N.H.), freshman Lianna Wissmann (Orleans, Mass.) Whitaker and Umbarger won the 200 medley relay with a NCAA B cut time of 1:45.89.   In the last race of the day, Freshman Stephanie Murray (Haverhill, Mass.) joined Wissmann, O'Leary and Whitaker for a second place finish in the 800 free relay (7:56.17).

The NEISDA championships conclude on Sunday.
