KEENE, N.H.  1/14/12 – The Keene State women's swim team improved its dual meet mark to 5-1 with a 140-111 Little East Conference victory over Eastern Conn. State at KSC's Spaulding Gym pool on Saturday.   The Owls won 15 of 16 races in the meet.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

"I thought we swam better than we did against Plymouth State on Wednesday," said KSC Coach Jack Fabian.  "They seem to be getting ready to race again after a few weeks of intense training."

Senior Jillian Whitaker (Gilford, N.H.) had a big day in the pool for the Owls, winning three races including the 50 breast (32.23), the 100 free (56.18) and the 100 I.M. (1:04.02).

Senior Maureen O'Leary (Nashua, N.H.), sophomore Lianna Wissmann (Orleans, Mass.), and freshman Diana Pimer (West Haven, Conn.) were double winners for the Owls.  O'Leary won the 200 fly (2:14.14) and the 50 fly (27.66), Wissmann won the 50 back (30.26) and the 200 back (2:18.91) and Pimer touched the wall first in the 400 I.M. (4:45.53) and 200 breast (2:30.23).

Single victories were posted by sophomore Stephanie Murray (Haverhill, Mass.) in the 200 free (2:01.88), freshmen Caitlyn Shea (Salem, N.H.) in the 500 free (5:20.52) and Taylor DaSilva (Stony Brook, N.Y.) won the 50 free (25.92).

The KSC 400 medley relay team also won with a time of 4:12.13.

The Warriors' (3-1) lone win was recorded in the 200 free relay (1:47.22).

The Keene State men's and women's swim team travel to Bentley University next Saturday for a big meet against the rival Falcons.
