BURLINGTON, Vt. 11/17/2013 - The Keene State College men's swimming and diving team won 12 of 16 events and set four pool records in a 174-121 victory over Division I Bryant College on Sunday afternoon at Forbush Natatorium at the University of Vermont.
Ranked sixth in the most recent Division III poll, the owls improve their dual meet mark to 5-1 on the season.
Senior Drew Ledwith (Keene, N.H.) turned in some strong performances in the pool, winning three individual races and as a member of a first place relay. Ledwith first place finishes came in the 200 fly (1:54.93), the 200 back (1:54.71) and the 500 free (4:36.37). He set pool record in the 200 back.
Freshman Christopher Barriss (Glastonbury, Conn.) was a double winner, taking the 100 back (53.40) and the 100 fly (54.15). Sophomore Greg Youngstrom (West Hartford, Conn.) set a pool record with his first place finish in the 50 (21.40).
Other first place swims were posted by senior James Black in the 100 free (47.82); sophomore Shahar Resman (Ashdod, Israel) in the 1,000 free (9:32.76) and sophomore Cole Hogg (Manchester, N.H.) in the 200 free (1:45.14).
Senior Josh Tuller (Plainview, N.Y.) won the three-meter diving event with 284.70 points.
Keene State also set pool record in the two relays. Senior Jared Hyde (Tolland, Conn.) and freshman Nathan Shepard (Keene, N.H.) teamed up with Barriss and Youngstrom to win the 200 medley relay (1:37.16). The foursome of Youngstrom, Ledwith, Hogg and Hyde concluded the meet with their pool record of 3:09.89 in the 400 free relay.
The Keene State men's and women's swim teams will compete at Tufts University next Saturday.
