KEENE, N.H.--The Keene State College swimming and diving teams tested themselves against high level competition on Friday evening, facing off against NCAA Division I Boston College.
The Eagles took both meets, with the men winning 239-49 and the women winning 245-51.
On the men's side, sophomore Kyle Shadeck took the 400 IM, winning in 4:19.84. Shadeck was also part of the 200 medley relay team that took third, teaming up with Antony Hubbard, JT Barth, and Patrick Doyle to clock in at 1:44.89. He also added a third place finish in the 100 back, in 57.16. Hubbard placed fourth in the 200 free, in 1:55.56, while Doyle did the same in the 100 fly in 52.14.
For the women, the 200 free relay team of Rachel MacKinnon, Hope Walsh, Hannah Wood, and Katie Brandeberry took fourth in the 200 free relay, while Wood added a third place finish in the 100 backstroke in 1:00.75, less than one second out of second place, and a second place in the 200 backstroke, in 2:11.81, again just under one second from first.
Walsh picked up a fourth place finish in the 200 freestyle in 2:05.25, and a third place spot in the 500 free in 5:21.55.
The Owls resume competition on November 18, facing Wheaton College (MA) and Springfield in a tri-meet at Wheaton
