NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.-- The Keene State College swimming and diving teams resumed New England competition with a powerful performance in a tri-meet against Western Connecticut State University and UMass Dartmouth on Wednesday night.
Women's Highlights
Keene State beat UMass Dartmouth 163-90 and WestConn 189-43.
Jordan Williams, Madison Pechulis, Sophie Hayes, and Patsy Ciampi won the 200 medley relay in 1:59.85, while Jaelin Jang and Molly O'Connor swept the top two positions in the 1,000 free, with Jang touching in in 11:22.78, and O'Connor next in 11:56.68. Paige Carey added a win in the 200 free, in 2:06.37, while Samantha Dickinson did the same in the 100 back in 1:04.40.
Madison Pechulis won the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.19, and Jang picked up her second win of the night in the 50 free in 26.29. Madison Pechulis added another win in the 100 free in 59.34, while twin sister Olivia Pechulis was first in the 200 breaststroke in 2:40.37. Dickinson picked up her second win of the night in the 500 free, edging out Jang in in 5:35.35. Hayes won the 100 fly in 1:05.25, and Dickinson added a third win in the 200 IM in 2:22.66.
Men's Highlights
The Owls toppled the Corsairs 196-95 and the Colonials 220-46.
Andrew Daur, JT Barth, Patrick Doyle, and Michael Morman were the winning combination in the 200 medley relay in 1:46.29, and Quint Kimmel was first in the 1,000 free, in 10:34.43, ahead of Cameron Stinchfield, in 10:48.02. Eric King and Kimmel went 1-2 in the 200 free, with King winning in 1:55.77, and Kimmel next in 1:57.86.
Daur notched a win in the 100 back in 58.71, as did Barth in the 100 breast in 1:03.57. Tyler Young won the 200 fly in 2:10.42, and Zach Payne was the winner in the 50 free in 23.27, nipping teammate Tomas Langland, who was in in 24.23.
George Colarullo won the 1-meter dive, scoring 245.18. Daur added another win in the 200 back, in 2:07.62, while Barth did the same in the 200 breast in 2:20.15. Colarullo also won the 3-meter board with a score of 252.07, and King won the 200 IM in 2:08.90. Jacob Peters, along with Morman, Kimmel, and Payne took the 400 meter relay in 3:30.58.
The Owls return to the pool this weekend, facing Brandeis and Bridgewater State at Wheaton College, in a meet that begins at 4:30 p.m.
