Women Second, Men Fifth On NEISDA Opening Day

KINGSTOWN, R.I.--The New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Championships began on Thursday night at the Tootell Aquatic Center at the University of Rhode Island with the 800 meter relay.

Women's Highlights

The foursome of Jaelin Jang, Sophie Hayes, Paige Carey, and Samantha Dickinson came in second, in 8:03.44.    The Owls are currently in second place with 56 points.

Men's Highlights

Quint Kimmel, Cam Stinchfield, Jacob Peters, and Patrick Doyle made up the men's 800 meter relay that was fifth in 7:25.51.   KSC sits in fifth place with 28 points.

The meet resumes on Friday at 9:30 a.m. with the preliminary heats of the 500 free, 100 fly, 50 breast, 200 back, 50 free, 200 IM, 400 medley relay, and 1-meter diving.   The final rounds for those events kick off at 6:30 p.m.
