KINGSTOWN, R.I.--The New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Championships continued on Friday at the Tootell Aquatic Center at the University of Rhode Island.
Women's Highlights
Molly O'Connor began the day with a fourth place finish in the 500 free in 5:28.57, while Sophie Hayes was second in the 100 fly in 59.32. Madison Pechulis was second in the 50 breaststroke in 30.69, with Paige Carey in fourth in 31.30.
Jaelin Jang added another second place finish, this one in the 200 IM, in 2:14.51, and the Owls' 400 medley relay team was third in 4:06.01. Keene State sits in third place after two days of competition, with 376 points. Roger Williams leads the meet with 589 points, with Simmons University in second with 472 points.
Men's Highlights
JT Barth was fourth in the 50 breaststroke in 27.47, and Andrew Daur was second in the 200 back in 2:00.81. Eric King was third in the 200 IM in 1:58.27, as was the Owls' 400 medley relay team in 3.35.55.
George Colarullo won the preliminary round of the 1-meter diving, scoring 392.30. Keene State surged into third place after finishing day one in fifth, totalling 162 points after two days. Roger Williams is also in first on the men's side, with 367 points, and Norwich is in second with 184.
The meet continues Saturday with preliminaries of the 200 medley relay, 400 IM, 50 fly, 200 free, 100 back, 100 breast, 200 free relay, as well as the finals of the 1-meter dive.
