KEENE, N.H.--The Keene State College women's swimming and diving team won their season opening in thrilling fashion, taking a pair of wins at the Keene State Pool on Saturday. The Owls thumped Colby-Sawyer 210-57, and nipped Stonehill 136-135.
Alice Loucraft and
Kiley Young combined for five wins.
Kiley Young provided the winning margin against Stonehill, securing the win against the Skyhawks in the 200 IM in 2:18.94 to take the meet by a single point.
Keene State won six events, including the meet opening 200 medley relay, as Young,
Paige Carey,
Jaelin Jang, and
Jillian O'Neil won in 1:54.45. That time was less that one second off at the end of the previous season.
Alice Loucraft won the first of her three events in 1,000 free in 11:39.87, and
Jaelin Jang took the 200 free in 2:05.59. Young also won the 100 backstroke in 1:02.95, and Loucraft took the 100 free in 57.08, and the 500 free in 5:45.48.
Emma Stelzner took the 1-meter dive by scoring 159.50.
The Owls return to action next week at the Roger Williams Invitational on October 16.
