KEENE, N.H. – The Keene State College athletic department named Jordan Cooper of the men's basketball team and Hailey Michaud of the Owls' VALORANT esports team this week's Owl Athletes of the Week. This week's selection encompassed action from December 8 through December 15.
 
Jordan Cooper, a junior guard from Goldsboro, North Carolina, helped lead the Owls to their 80-60 win over Hamilton University in the final game prior to the winter break for KSC. Cooper finished with a game-high 27 points coming from 50% from the field (10-for-20), 50% (4-for-8) from three, and a perfect 3-for-3 at the line. Cooper also recorded three other game-highs, including eight rebounds, five assists, and steals in the victory for the Owls.
 
Hailey Michaud, a junior from Weare, New Hampshire, and team captain of the Owls' VALORANT esports team helped lead the team to their first championship in program history in only the third season as a program. Across the two maps, Michaud recorded 41 kills and 14 assists for the Owls. After KSC won the first map in the best of three, Michaud led the Owls in their comeback victory in map two to help clinch the championship victory. Down 16-17, with Redlands winning the map with the round win, Michaud was able to stall the Owls' opponent and tie the map up at 17-17. When KSC was down shortly after, 17-18, Michaud had another clutch 1v1 to help tie the map at 18-18. After the Owls won the ensuing round to go up 19-18, Michaud had a triple kill to help secure the win for KSC for the championship.
