KEENE, N.H. – The Keene State College athletic department named
Jordan Cooper of the men's basketball team and
Brynn Rautiola of the women's basketball team this week's Owl Athletes of the Week. This week's selection encompassed action from December 29 through January 4.
Jordan Cooper, a junior guard from Goldsboro, North Carolina, led the Owls on the attack over their two games on the week, averaging 25 points per game, shooting 18-for-37 (48.6%) from the field, and 7-for-12 (58.3%) from three. Cooper averaged five rebounds per game to go with 2.5 assists and one steal per game over the week for the Owls. His best game of the week came in the Owls' conference win over the University of Southern Maine where he tied for the game-high of 27 points from 10-for-19 (52.6%) from the field and 4-for-7 (57.1%) from three. Cooper also recorded three rebounds to go with a pair of assists, to go with a steal and block in the win.
Brynn Rautiola, a junior guard from Rindge, New Hampshire also led the Owls on the attack over the week as she averaged 21 points per game over the week on 52.2% (24-for-46) shooting from the field, to go with 39.1% (9-for-23) from three. Over the three games, Rautiola also averaged 2.3 rebounds per game to go with 1.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Her best game over the week came in the Owls' win over Framingham State University where she logged 25 points on 45% (9-for-20) from the field, to go with three rebounds, while tying for the game highs with each three assists, and three steals over 29 minutes in the win.
