KEENE, N.H. – Madi Mousley celebrated her Senior Day with a second-place 88 to help lead the Keene State College women's golf team to the team championship at their own invitational on a beautiful Tuesday that also marked the first day of Fall at the Keene Country Club.

On a day where the course played far rougher than the weather, KSC recorded two of the three birdies on the day, with Mousley finishing with a two on the 149-yard par three 10th hole and
Sadie Murray a two on No. 8, a 203-yard par three. The duo, who helped the Owls win the inaugural Little East women's golf championship a season ago, also combined for eight pars. Mousley improved by six strokes on the back nine, shooting a 41. Overall, Murray finished with a 92 and placed fourth on the individual leaderboard.
Mackenzie Hagearty added a 98, parring three holes, while
Abby Weiterman had a 105.
Keene State had three play as individuals, all making their collegiate golf debuts, with
Ruby Dasaro (also a member of the women's basketball team) parring four holes and shooting a 102 while
Caitlyn Savage had a 111 and
Megan Nachitgall a 123.
Eastern Connecticut State University's Caroline Goderre was the individual medalist on the back of a strong front nine, shooting a 38 (+2) that included one birdie and six pars. She hit a rough stretch on the back nine but finished with an 82 to notch a six-stroke win. Unlike at ECSU's own invitational a week ago, the Warriors did not get supplementary scoring as the Owls gained separation in the other three scoring spots. Daria Fournier carded a 96 for the Warriors, Grace Rose a 102, and Hannah Milot a 120.
Southern Maine placed third as a team despite having third-place individual Remy Levin (89), with their next closest coming in with a 109. Lasell University rounded out the field with a 515.
It marked the third current iteration of the Keene State Invitational (fifth if you include the initial two-team events in the inaugural 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons). After shooting a 456 and 438, respectively, the first two years, the Owls have since recorded team scores of 388, 373, and 383 (this year) on their home course as they look to continue to grow the program.
KSC is back at it Sunday when they travel to Newington, Conn. for the University of Hartford Invitational at the Indian Hill Country Club. The second-ever conference championship is nearly exactly a month away, October 24-25 in Westfield, Mass.
