PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) recently announced their Watchlist, powered by Performance Sports events (PSE) for the 2025 field hockey season and
Grace Bazin of the Keene State College field hockey team earned a selection to the watchlist.
There are 175 student-athletes from 84 Division III institutions who have been named to the 2025 NFHCA Watchlist. The NFHCA Watchlist "is intended to showcase those field hockey student-athletes with the strongest potential for consideration to the current year's NFHCA All-Region and All-American teams. To be nominated for the 2025 NFHCA Watchlist, student-athletes must have been previously recognized for their outstanding field hockey abilities within the past two years (NFHCA All-Region, NFHCA All-American, All-Conference, Senior Nexus Championship selection, NCAA All-Tournament Team, and/or U.S. National or International Team roster) and nominated by their NFHCA member coach."
Bazin, a senior attack from Westminster, Vermont, returns to the Owls for her senior season as she looks to help lead the Owls to back-to-back Little East Conference championships for the first time since the 2017-2018 seasons. In her junior season, along with being named to the First Team All-LEC Team and NFHCA Region II Second Team selections, Bazin took home the LEC Offensive Player of the Year award as she was a crucial part in KSC taking home their 15th conference championship as she had recorded five game-winning goals across the year. Across the season, Bazin started in all 22 games for the Owls while leading the conference in goals with 26 for 1.13 goals per game, which was the fifth most goals scored in a single season by an Owl. Her seven assists on the year (tied for the fifth most in the conference) brought her point total to 59 points, which was the fifth-most by a member of the KSC field hockey program on the year, while finishing first in the LEC in points on the season by 19 points. Bazin reached 104 career points by the end of the season and is now has the twelfth most points in program history after becoming the 13th member to reach the 100-point club, in the Owls' contest at Vermont State Castleton University (10/22/24) last year.
Bazin and the Owls cruised to a 7-2 win over Rivier University (8/29/25) to open the 2025 campaign which resulted in Coach Watson becoming the 14th coach in NCAA history across any level to reach the 500-career win mark. Bazin proved why she was selected to the NFHCA watchlist in the season-opener of Coach Watson's final season as she recorded three goals and an assist for a seven-point performance, which also earned her the LEC Offensive Player of the Week nod.
Keene State returns to action at home on Wednesday, September 3, at 6:30 PM as the Owls host Colby-Sawyer College and look to move to 2-0 to start their season.
